Making one category hide on homepage

If you want to hide the category “portfolio” post from FrontPage please pass your portfolio category id to query post:
<?php query_posts(‘cat=- $cat_id’); ?> If there is not “query_posts(‘cat=- $cat_id’);” on your home page template please add this please follow the below link will guide you:

do not use query_post() – the least problem you will get is that the pagination will stop working.

Add the following code in your child theme functions.php file

function cedcommerce_exclude_category( $query ) {
if ( $query->is_home() && $query->is_main_query() ) {
$query->set( ‘cat’, ‘write category id here with negative sign(ex: -1)’ );
}
}
add_action( ‘pre_get_posts’, ‘cedcommerce_exclude_category’ );
