• When I change one link to no-follow, WordPress is automatically changing ALL links in my posts to no-follow. This includes my internal links, resulting in pingbacks and comments. I’ve tried to check/uncheck the box, manually add the no-follow tag, but it seems that by default it updates every link. Help!

    Thank you,

    Anna

  • I’ve tried to check/uncheck the box,

What ‘checkbox’? How are you entering this link and making it no-follow?

WordPress removed the links manager many versions ago, it can be added back in by modifying your functions or using a plugin, but it doesn’t natively appear in WP.

So are you using a plugin? If so, then you should probably post this in the plugin author’s support forum. If not, post back with more info so that we can try to help.

I’m not using a plugin and believe I have the latest version of wordpress (4.5.2). The box is located below the “open link in new tab” under link options. I can’t find any plugins that I have that have a no follow option. Does Yoast?

Sorry fitpumps, I don’t use 4.5.2 (yet).. it sounds like you *may* have found a bug – there are some known issues (noted in this sticky post at the top of this forum):

Notably a bug with the inline link editor, detailed here:
    https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/36732

But your bug sounds different – you might consider reporting it ??
