• That’s what I want to do.

I want to be able to display my series in an assigned order and even, if it’s possible, place series in series.

I’ve hacked the widget some, so that it shows the list of series and then a table of contents of posts abovethe series list. But I’ve stretched my php knowledge to the limit with that!

How do I add “order” to series?

  • Hey there!
Stay tuned, within 2 weeks I’m going to be releasing the next version of Organize Series here on www.ads-software.com and at the same time a brand new website for it. Why’s that big news? It’s big news because on the Organize Series website I’ll be releasing addons for Organize Series that will bring many of the most requested features to the plugin.

One of those add-ons that will be released when the website goes live is “Organize Series Grouping” which will in essence allow you to group series together. The add-ons won’t be free but they won’t be expensive either. I’ll also be offering a paid support plan.

Organize Series will also have improved template tags for controlling how the series are ordered on a page.

Well, awesome, that’s one part of my problem solved!

Will series order be another thing?

I believe series order is already possible via one of the template tags in the series-template-tags.php file. I can’t remember which one off hand – but it is possible to order by IDs (which is creation date), date, and alphabetical order (series title). If this is what you are looking for the new support docs coming will have instructions on that.

If you are talking about ordering the series in the same way as being able to order posts in a series that is not something that is currently possible (nor do I have an addon ready to release with that).

Once I get the new site up and running there will be a place to put in add-on requests and my development time will be prioritized by the ones that receive the most requests.

Yes, ordering the serieses is what I’m hoping for! It’s like the posts within each series are chapters in a book; the serieses are books number 1, 2, 3, 4 etc.
