Making sidebar stretch to bottom of screen

I’m wondering if anyone has made the sidebar stretch to the bottom of the users screen. A modification as it were.

In other words, to have a sidebar which ‘neatly’ hits the bottom of all pages, regardless of how much content is there in the side bar.

Any ideas?
