Making the footer sticky

I’ve been trying to make the footer stick to the bottom as there is currently very less content in the page. I followed the steps mentioned here but it doesn’t seem to work correctly: https://wordimpress.com/put-a-css-sticky-footer-in-your-wordpress-theme/
