    Hi there,

I’m trying to create a second blog on a password-protected webpage on my WordPress site (as above). How can I do this? It’s probably really easy but I want to make sure I’m doing it right so I don’t muck up my other pages/blog pages!

How do I password protect this page with the blog on it?

    Any advice appreciated.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

If you mean an entirely separate site, it will be easier to just install WordPress again under a subdomain like newsite.example.com

If you have more than one site, you’ll want to look into converting it to a multisite network: https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/create-a-network/

A blog listing is not normally password protected, only individual pages can be. One advantage of either of James’ suggestions is you can manage access through the usual user management since each site has its own set of user roles.

Other solutions are possible, for example one blog could be composed of a custom post type, whose access can be managed by unique user capabilities. Even a single password protected page can be caused to provide a blog listing, but normal access through the usual means would need to be blocked for this to be effective. These more novel approaches require custom coding. Almost anyone can manage installing separate sites like James suggests.
