Making updates on Twenty Ten without using a child theme

  • Hello!

    I haven’t done much yet on my blog, but the theme I got on is the default Twenty Ten theme. If I copy my existing Twenty Ten theme, rename it within the style sheet and save it into another folder would that protect me when I do the next upgrade?

    Again I haven’t done ANYTHING on my blog yet so…the only thing I plan on doing is changing the header, some of the colors and just adding a few widgets.
