I downloaded the current version of WordPress as usual, uploaded the core files to my server and just received this email from 1and1.

    Dear Michael Stevens,

This is an urgent message regarding the security of your website(s) hosted with 1&1 Internet. Our anti-virus scanner has reported that at least one malicious script or file has been uploaded to your web space.

Name and Path to the file: ~/elementsrestoration/wp-includes/js/plupload/plupload.full.min.js

To protect you and your site visitors from hacker attacks, our anti-virus scanner checks every file that is uploaded or modified. Malicious files are then disabled automatically.

I haven’t installed wordpress, created a password…..simply uploaded the core files I extracted from www.ads-software.com and uploaded to my server. I called 1and1 but it’s after hours.
