• Hello,

I discovered yesterday that when I went to install a plugin, the “Install” button took me straight to a “dodgy website”. Now it seems that if I try and use anything in the back end it takes me to the “dodgy website” I’ve ran multiple scans including on my pc too and it hasn’t picked anything up, I’ve tried a different pc and the problem is still there. I’m wondering if this is being sourced from one of my plugins but I would like some help please.

    Thanks

That probably means that your site is hacked or you are running a dodgy plugin or theme on your installation.

Can you deactivate all plugins and switch your theme to Twenty Fifteen? This is a temporary step and I want to see if you are running a plugin or theme that’s doing that.

If you still have that problem then your site may be compromised and you’ll need to start with these article.

Yikes! Apologies for an unhelpful answer, but which plugin was it that you installed, so the rest of us can steer clear?

    Hope this gets fixed soon.
