So while making a Google Adwords campaign googles team told us there were malware links on our website and that our campaign couldn’t be run until they were removed. They sent us the links but not there locations. After a lot of research I can’t determine whats the best option to find and remove these links. I am desperate at this point after two days of scouring the site looking for these links. Is there any trustworthy plugins or ways I can determine where these links are and then remove them? We are a small company and are trying to be the most economical with this process, but if we can not run ads we cannot reach our customers. Any help is appreciated. This is my first post and I believe I followed the guidelines but let me know if you need more information.

  • Carefully follow FAQ My site was hacked – WordPress Codex.

Then take a look at the recommended security measures in Hardening WordPress – WordPress Codex and Brute Force Attacks – WordPress Codex

If you can’t do the work yourself, consider looking for a reputable person on https://jobs.wordpress.net/ or https://directory.codepoet.com or https://upwork.com

(FYI, it’s not a good idea to respond to work offers from random forum users who have read about your issues.)

Just a suggestion on top of the great guidance Mark has already given you. Since you asked about plugins, there is a plugin called Wordfence Security that has a scan feature that might help you with finding the links.

    Good luck.

Thanks so much Mark and codejockey for your help! You have given me what I needed to get the site running. Now I just have to wrestle with google to get these ads up now that I have gotten rid of the malware links.

I am having this problem as Google Adwords gets more agressive, and even 1and1 is thinking wordfence is malicious because the way it logs files, however using the top 10 security scanners on the site, there is no malware on the site..

usually adwords goes down, by google in the next 24 hours it goes back up.. not sure what they think..

    but 1and1 pointes to wordfence file wp-content / wflogs / attack-data.php

Isn’t it possible, that Wordfence itself is causing the problem?
    See the Country Blocking tag.
“Block access to the rest of the site (outside the login form)” is checked, and does not allow to uncheck it in the free version …
