    Hi all,

I use WPvivid for the backup of my WordPress website. It worked fine untill the last upgrade.

The backup process still works fine, but when I want to download the backup to my hard disk, the virus scanner (Avast, but also AVG on a different laptop) abborts the download. It states that it eliminated at threat (Other: Malware-gen[Trj])

Any idea what the problem is?

    Thanks!

    Edwin

    Hello @edwinnl

Thanks for using WPvivid Backup Plugin.

    1. It is recommended that you first switch to the PclZip compression method in WPvivid Advanced settings, see this screenshot. Then make a new backup and see if it is an issue with the compression method.
    2. If that does not solve the issue, then because WPvivid Backup plugin just compresses your website data and does not change them, can you contact developers of the virus scanners and see whether they could provide more information about the block, for example, how they determine whether a file is malicious, and see if any files on the site have recently become malicious.

    All the best,

Hi Tony, thanks for your response. Option 1 you mentioned does not solve the issue. I will try to contact one of the virus scanner companies for more info. But because both Avast and AVG suddenly rejects the download, it probably has something to do with the recent upgrade. Untill that upgrade, everything worked fine.
