    I’m following this guide to setup MAMP, and I’m stuck on step 5. When I try to create a config file, it asks for my database name, MySQL username and password, database host, and table prefix.

    I’m utterly confounded. I don’t think I have a MySQL username and password.

  • Step 2) of that tutorial indicates that you need to create a database and give it a unique name.

    In Step 5) of the tutorial, the reference is made to the name of the database you created in step 2, and the database username “root” with a password of “root”.

    “Database Name: arresteddevelopment (or whichever name you chose for your database)
    User Name: root
    Password: root “
