    Several sites – Use of Download link in Manage Backup Archives fails. After clicking the download link a window opens with “Please wait …” message. Download does not occur.

    A different site – Download occurs but Please Wait window stays open.

    Sorry my late reply, just want to ask if you possible upgrade PHP version to 7.0 or better 7.2 and then try again?
    Is that make any difference?

    All mine are already at version 7.2. Still stuck at Please wait …

    could you try with another web browser or clear your cache?
    When it’s show downloading please wait, can you see any error in browser console( press F12 -> click on console tab )

    I am still seeing the same issue with a cleared cache and watching for a console error. It just hangs there. I do have a few clients on older versions of php that do work.
