I’ve done a search through the forum but can’t find a solution.

As the title says, whenever I attempt to go into the ‘Manage Gallery’ area, the page loads a 403 Forbidden instead.

I don’t know why this is happening or of course how to fix it. If anyone has any clues that would be great!

@crackingace – This is an odd error indeed … have you tried seeing if it is a conflict with another plugin causing this error? I really don’t think that is the case, but its a definitely place to start.

If it is not a plugin issue, please feel free to submit a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) and include log in and FTP credentials for your WordPress installation on the Bug Report, too, so we can try to help you get this sorted out.

    Thanks!

I’m wondering if it might be Bulletproof Security Plugin.

Are there commonly issues between these plugins?

@crackingace – Many security plugins cause various odd errors … that may be related in this case.

You would have to deactivate, and quite possibly delete the security plugin (and even possibly scrub the .htaccess file as well … some are very hard to remove).

Let us know if that is the case for you.

    Thanks!

I have this problem, too. However I just tried using Chrome, instead of my usual FireFox and the error 403 did not appear when accessing the “Manage Galleries” function.
