    Hi carsuk,

To try to determine the cause, I’ll need this information:
    – your PHP and WP version
    – a screenshot of the issue if possible

    Thanks for the prompt response.

WP is 4.4.2 and PHP is 5.5.23.

We activated query monitor to see if we could see errors, but it’s not loading on the manage pages so it seems the page is failing to load properly.

I see, there is nothing wrong with WP or PHP.

What plugin are you using for the custom link column?

    Thread Starter carsuk

    (@carsuk)

We’re using NextGen Custom Fields. We have thousands of galleries and all use this for a custom link for thumbnails. The galleries already on site are functioning normally, including the link from thumbnail to gallery page.

I have hopefully identified the issue and a fix is being merged to the main plugin.

Since this is an annoying bug, I have prepared a version that includes the fix: https://bitbucket.org/niknetniko/nextcellent/downloads/nextcellent-thumb-4.zip

Please install this version (if possible) and let me know if the issue is resolved.

Thank you very much. All now seems to be working.

It seems the update has raised another problem!

For a long time, every time we’ve published a new gallery we’ve had to go to settings, uncheck ‘Add a Static Link’, save and then recheck and save again otherwise only the first image on a gallery works and subsequent images hit a 404.

Now, since applying the update, that doesn’t work and all of our thousands of galleries will only show the first image (example at https://www.carsuk.net/car-image-galleries/audi-galleries/audi-rs-q3-performance-photos/)

We have managed to get the galleries working again by re-saving the permalink structure.

However, although the columns are now back on the gallery manage page – as are all the thumbnails – we cannot save any changes we make (e.g. linked page or custom fields) so new galleries aren’t working.

Have you tried this with version 1.9.31?

I can save the custom fields just fine.

The update has just turned up on our dashboard, but updating has made no difference. We still can’t save custom links or the page link. Assume it’s a permissions issue?

    (@niknetniko)

I have found the issue: the NextGEN custom field plugin uses an action that was fired at the incorrect place.

You will need to install this newer version of NextCellent manually:
    https://bitbucket.org/niknetniko/nextcellent/downloads/nextcellent-action.zip

    That should fix your issue.

Many thanks – that seems to work!

Will this mean we will lose this when the plugin is next updated, or will this fix be included?

Also, on a slightly related note, is there any way to have the drop-down list of page links to be sorted alphabetically?

    Unfortunately not I’m afraid.
