• My previous topic was ticked as resolved after the suggestion that illegal characters in filenames may have been to blame. This turned out not to be the case.

On further investigation I’ve discovered that ALL of my 119 galleries show the same problem:

When in Edit Gallery only 40 thumbnails show and the rest are just blank squares with no information or editing capabilities. As a rule the 40 thumbnails are from more recently added images.

I am using the Twenty Sixteen theme.

PHP 7.3 is installed on my Fasthosts server.

I also tried using Microsoft Edge instead of Firefox. No difference.

I am using Windows 10 with 18GB RAM.

    I also tried Windows 7.

Media Library says it contains 11490 items.

I tried disabling all other plugins except:
    Robo Gallery 2.8.32
    Robo Gallery Key 1.3
    Robo Gallery Key 1.5
    Gutenberg
    Classic Editor

Can you confirm these are the correct Robo Gallery plugin versions I’m using?

I would be grateful for any suggestions of things to try

  • I thought in my case it was a loading issue do to the amount of images and having the site on shared server, but I do have the same problem. In edit mode I can only see some of the images to edit the rest are blank with no data. As an additional note, when I add new images to the gallery they do show properly at the end of the gallery in edit mode, but the ones before, those are blank.

Thanks for that info. It’s a relief it’s not just me having this problem. I think it’s maybe under reported as it’s easy to ignore up to a point.

Well I guess we will continue with the mystery since we get no response ??

As I mentioned I have the same issue and it is a pain in the “face” I have it seems duplicated images in my Gallery that has over 800 images, and because I cannot see the galley thumbnails, expect the latest 40 then I cannot find it and remove the duplicate. I have also tried moving the content to a different upload folder thinking the reference might be broken but nothing. Can we please get some help here?

So let me explain what just happened to me with this. After trying and trying different things I actually, went into my Gallery and clicked on Manage Images. On that screen I click on the left side on Add to Gallery and scrolled down, then I clicked back on Edit Gallery and just like that the images started to show up, the more I went back and forth between the links the more images it loaded. I did not manage to load them all but I did manage to load over 100 images, not sure what is the relation here but that was what happened. @aveenniker do you want to try that and see if you have the same luck?. Thanks.

I tried that a few times with a couple of galleries but it had no effect.

*** It would be nice if the programmers for Robo Gallery would at least acknowledge that we have reported a bug and are looking into it. ***

So far there’s been one suggestion that illegal characters in filenames are to blame. After I indicated that wasn’t the case there’s been no further response. The person at Robo Gallery who blamed filenames may have ticked the box ‘Reply and mark as resolved’ but it certainly was not resolved and nor is it now!

It is not resolved for sure, and I can assure you I have no special characters, all my file names are very much similar, so the ones shown (40 of them) have the same naming format as the rest of them. Hopefully someone at RoboGallery will be back from vacation soon and reply.

Another thing I tried was disabling version 1.3 of Robo Gallery Key and leaving version 1.5 active. It made absolutely no difference; the problem persisted. Is there any point in having version 1.3 installed?

I’ve run out of things to try. I’d really like to see an edit screen without blank squares and more than 40 thumbnails. Is there anybody out there who can show me a screenshot of such a thing?

    (@aveenniker)

Can anyone show me a screenshot of more than 40 thumbnails in Edit Gallery? If not then this must be an unreported bug and not a fault only affecting 2 or 3 users who have reported it.

I’ve updated my web page detailing the problems.

4 weeks now and no solution or even a suggestion…

Could you please post ticket with console screenshots to our local ticket system here: https://robosoft.co/new-ticket

We’re trying to find solution for this problem, but we can’t replicate it on our test location. Please post all details here https://robosoft.co/new-ticket and we’ll try to find solution directly on your page.

Another week has passed and there’s no progress to a solution.

I had two versions installed of Robo Gallery Key 1.3 and 1.5. Previously I tried disabling 1.3 and found it made no difference. Today I deleted 1.3 and the software worked unchanged. I also forced a reinstallation of a freshly downloaded zip file of 1.5 and that made no difference either.

We finally have solution, sorry for some delay.

Next week we have plans for new release and this fix will be included to this gallery release.

If someone wish please contact us directly and we’ll share files with fix for manual modification (temporary if you don’t wish to wait for gallery release).

This bug related with latest changes in wordpress core files of the media manager and it’s impact to our gallery resources such a strange way.

Hey Robosoft, yes can you please share those files I’d like to fix this ASAP then will have the final fix once you post out your updated version. Thanks.

You can download fix from here: https://robosoft.co/robogallery/thumbnails_fix.zip
Inside this package you can find script.min.js

    Please open this folder:
    wp-content\plugins\robo-gallery\cmb2\fields\gallery\js

and make backup copy of your current script.min.js after that just upload to this folder script.min.js from this zip.

After that clear cache of the browser and reload page with gallery and gallery media manager. I hope it’s gonna help. In our test locations it was helpful all gallery thumbnails looks as usual.

We’re really appreciate some feedback here.

Thank you so much for your patience and sorry for any inconvenience.

Hi @robosoft unfortunately it did not work for me, it actually broke the page and I had to return it to the previous script. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
