Manage Multiple Writers Assignments and Workflow

Does anyone know if good solutions for managing multiple writers? I have come across a plugin called To Do Plugin, but I am wondering if there are better solutions.
I am researching solutions that would help manage multiple writers workflow and approval process. The plugin should allow admin user to add writing assignments to specific user accounts. Then each user/writer can use to see what writing work is assigned to them. Only the user/writer that the todo list is assigned to can see their todo list, they cannot see any other user’s writing assingments.

But nothing really addresses creating individual list of stuff to do for each writer/contributor.
