Recently signed up for Square and installed the WooCommerce Square plugin. Managed to set it all up, including synching products, however I’ve found an issue which is major for us, and may cause issues for many others, that I need help with.

Some of our products are either virtual, or we purchase on an on-demand basis, meaning we do not require WooCommerce to manage the stock. I have noticed that if I choose to sync one of those virtual/purchase on demand products, the plugin automatically enables the “Manage Stock” function. There is no way to disable this if you decide to sync products from woocommerce to stripe. By default, the stock quantity for these products is set to zero by enabling the square sync, meaning the product gets marked as out of stock, and the associated bundles that contain that product get marked as out of stock.

The only two work arounds I have found are:

    1) Enable “Manage Stock” and input a stock quantity, however this then totally ruins my stock report and cash value of stock on hand.

    2) Enable “Allow Backorders”, but then this marks the products and the bundles the products are included in as out of stock or on backorder, not a desirable result

FYI I have WooCommerce selected as Product system of record.

Surely there is a work around for this?

    Hey there @247golf!

Have you tried to sync your products individually instead of syncing all of them together, i.e you are able to sync products individually. So you can exclude some products from sync if you individually enable syncing for specific products.

Instructions on how to sync only specific products are here.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
