    Hello everyone,

I finally have tweaked my blog the way I want it and am happy with the result. However, there is just one area that I would like some guidance: affiliate banner ads. You will notice that I have many in a sidebar widget (and I hope to be adding many more), but I’m wondering if there is a way to get them to rotate and change. I would like for them to constantly change, (much like the pictures in the upper right hand corner), everytime a visitor goes to a new page. But I cannot figure out how to do it, or even if it can be done. I have searched on this forum and have found some information on managing affiliate “links”, but these are the banners I’m having trouble with. For reference, I am using WP 2.7 and the Amazing Grace Theme. Here is my site to review: https://www.StayHealthyandWell.com

Also just for your reference, it is necessary for me to have absolute control over the ads…so currently using Commission Junction for alot of the banners and managing them myself. But it sure seems to take a lot of time (maybe this is normal?). Also, I have implemented some of my private ones within the mix of the CJ banners. But I cannot use something like Google Ads, because I can’t control what’s ads are placed. So again, I’m wondering if there is a system that can help me with rotating the banners and make it more efficient for me to manage all of them.

Would I need a plug-in to do this? I’ve searched through the plug-ins as well and really didn’t find anything that I felt was relevant for rotating and managing the banner ads. Perhaps it can’t be done, but I feel like I must not be the only one that has this issue!

I would appreciate any and all help! Thank you!
    Melissa

  • I was recently looking in the plugins section and there are a few that will do what you want them to.. If you have your own hosted blog instead of a wordpress blog i assume..

Ad-miniter is one that i found
    Random/Rotating Ads
    Ad Rotate

there are a BUNCH more, just go to search and plugins and you will find them

Now, as for which ones work the best, i am not sure.. I have JUST strted selling adspace on my blog..

Thanks Linda, I think I incorrectly assumed that most of those plug-ins only worked with AdSense and since I’m not using that, felt like it wouldn’t work for my purposes. I did not see any of those that you mentioned when I did my search…so perhaps I used the wrong term or something. But in any event, I really appreciate your reply and it does look like they would work…now it’s just a question of figuring out which one! Thanks again!

In my opinion, the ad minister looks like the most robust.. I had came across another one that i kind of liked, but now i can not find it again.. it was called something like
    myAds
    or
    myAds manager

but i searched that and couldnt find it.. if you come across it, will you let me know.. Its similar to ad minister, but i little more indepth with reporting clicks and such

Linda, I’m wondering if the one you’re looking for is AdServe?

hmm actually, that wasnt the one, but it looks promising as well!! I like that a blog “user” can log in to see their states.. thus giving possible customers the ability to see the worth of thier ads

I found another banner ad program….Max Banner Ads. I have been using it for about a week and love the flexibility of it. I decided that I needed to buy the paid version in orer to get rid of their advertising, but it’s not expensive and I am very happy with the results. It randomly rotates ads and I can put them in various places on the blog and have them rotate too!

Your max banner ads isn’t showing on the top portion of your articles.

HealthyGirl, did you try out the other banner ad plugins? Also, how do you like using Max Ads so far? You talked about having to pay, but I see no such thing on their website.
