Managing Genesis Framework and child themes

The themes are not visible to a WordPress Editor role. I was going to create a Role to add that functionality. I checked Edit Theme Options and Edit Themes but am still producing an access error. Through the new role I can now see the Genesis theme options but not the child theme. Any suggestions? thanks
