Manual Database Upgrade 3.1 to 3.3

  • I have been having this issue since recently upgrading WordPress from version 3.1 to 3.3.1. It appears the database version is still set to 17516 which translates to 3.1.

    I’ve researched manually forcing an upgrade of the database by lowering the version number in the database, but it appears not to trigger an update option in WordPress in the latest version.

    I could use some help in how to resolve this without blowing away all my data.
