Manual post order does not work

    If I manually set the post order in the post admin interface on the Dashboard, and then reload the page, the posts are in the same order as before. The manually set post order has no effect.

    It also has no effect when displaying posts on the site itself.

    Manual page ordering however, works fine.

    How can I get the post ordering to work?
