I inserted 3 manual related posts on the linked post. They did not show up, but instead display the CRP generated posts. I noticed this recently on another post. Seemed to correlate with latest update. (Ver. 3.5.3)

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Please can you temporarily disable the cache in the settings page and tell me if this is still an issue? Also if you edit this post, do you still see the manual posts in there?

I should have noted that I am using short code in a Divi module placed after the text module. Indeed when the the settings are set to display at the bottom, manual related post do appear.

Ah. If you want to use the shortcode you can try include_post_ids as a parameter with a comma separated list or IDs. I enhanced the functionality of this in the update so you can pass a blank field and then overwrite the parameter. This allows you to use the manual field for some and ignore for the shortcode.

This worked [crp include_post_ids=31641,43746,48711], but it’s completely cumbersome because the manual related post worked fine before the upgrade, meaning that I could use a search term in Divi in the manual related posts and add the posts automatically. Now I have use the search and then manually add to the shortcode.

What is the full shortcode that you are using?

I just checked the post and I can see those three post IDs at the bottom. Is this the shortcode or the meta box now?

If I use include_post_ids as a parameter of the shortcode in my tests, I see them appear fine. But, you do have extra posts which are generated by the plugin which is the default behaviour. If you want to not have those you need to pass the exact number of post IDs as the number you’ve set in the settings page.

    (@quidprocrow)

This is the shortcode. If I change the shortcode back to [crp] the manual related posts don’t show. If you are referring to the metabox in the post, in the past that’s all I had to change to display manual related posts. Now it seems that I also have to add to shortcode, meaning that I would have to go back to all the posts that used manual related and change the shortcode.

Yes, I have the number of posts set to 3, so in this case, the 3 listed in the shortcode are the only ones visible.

I I uunderstand correctly, you set it to [crp] and use the manual posts in the metabox as normal and they don’t show. Is that correct?

If so, I think I might know the issue but need to relook at the changes I made in the version.

    (@quidprocrow)

    Yes, that is correct.

Hi, I have a beta version in the github repo if you’d like to try it. It should fix both the manual_related and the include_post_ids – in the shortcode and the meta box.

I removed the post IDs from the shortcode and replaced with [crp]. It worked. I also revised a post from yesterday in which I modified the shortcode. That worked too.I now have the correct manual related posts displayed on the posts. Again thank you so much for you diligence on this.

thank you for confirming. I’ll get this out in a release this week.

Can I request you to consider a review of the plugin if you haven’t done so already.
