Manual Translations Without Editing Plugin Files

    I notice there are .po and .mo files included with the plugin, but when I add a translation to these manually, the translation doesn’t seem to appear. What am I doing wrong?

    I need a way to add manual translations for error messages etc without editing the main plugin files, so that the translations don’t get erased when the plugin updates.
