  • Hi,

While updating WordPress manually it is important to delete your old wp-includes and wp-admin folder.

    – Delete old wp-includes folder and upload the new wp-includes of WordPress 4.0
    – Also delete your wp-admin folder and upload new wp-admin folder

I did that but now I have this message.

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Sorry, a bit slow on the draw, I see someone else is already helping with similar advice at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/warning-and-fatal-error-after-manually-updating
