    Hi Support,

After installing version 3.1 my wp admin sidebar panel is not showing on the admin page. Only dashboard and profile is showing in the sidebar
I took a screenshot so you can see better what I mean
    https://bit.ly/ib3QZ6

This is what I have tried so far to resolve it.
Renamed theme to ‘twentyten’ theme to see if my theme caused any trouble.
    – No luck so far

Disabled all my plugins to check if they caused any problems
    – Still no luck

Before this I had to reconnect the database and change the prefix in the table names because the updated made new tables with different prefix. I don’t know if this got something to do with it, but I think it’s good to mention it anyway.

Does support have any solution to this or has anyone else had this problem?

  • Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

Anyone else who have a solution to this? How about you guys at support?

There is no “support”. There is only this forum staffed by volunteers.

Looks like you logged in as user not as admin

Ok, I understand, I thought it was a support team.

govpatel: I tried to reset the password phpMyAdmin but I think that is not the right way to go since nothing changed. Is it a way to change it from user to admin?

in phpmyadmin check what id no. is usually 1 for admin

and check _usermeta table and look at id 1 and see if you have
    this in table 8

It’s seems to be in different order so I’ll show you the whole table. I highlighted row 8.

looks like you have admin capability

Did you log in with same id

    Thread Starter johnberg

    (@johnberg)

Yes, I log in with the same ID and I even reset the password to see if that worked.

Is it better just to install everything again via cpanel and then redirect to my current database?

You will still have same problem as your log in info is saved on database so reinstalling is not the answer

How did you reset your password?

    Thread Starter johnberg

    (@johnberg)

If you done what it says in article then you should not have problem logging in.I am puzzled
