Manual update, then server error, then themes error !

    I am new to WP. I have just downloaded WP from my cPanel and by default it downloaded the 3.5 version. I manually updated to 3.6.1 (faced problems with the automatic update) but then I could not log in and I get a server error.

    Renaming the theme folder seemed to have solved the problem and I was able to login again but on my dashboard I get ERROR: The themes directory is either empty or doesn’t exist. Please check your installation.

    Help would be really appreciated.
