Hi, I have more information to share which may help diagnose the problem.

I heard back from DreamHost tech support (who are great by the way)…

“I verified that DreamSpeed is functioning properly on your buckets (as verified by the link you provided), I noticed that the plugins you have in the ‘wp-content/plugins/’ folder are preventing WP CLI from working.”

This is all new for me. Do you have any idea how to proceed?

Really appreciate your time on this. Thanks in advance.

WordPress renamed all the files in the media library to “objects.dreamhost.com:443”:

    https://objects.dreamhost.com:443/mybucket123/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/image.png

Did you check the dream.io box before uploading existing images?

WP-CLI is something else, but it means they can’t do any command line work on WP for you. What’s your ticket number or domain? I can check in the system when I’m not traveling (secure wifi is not really secure, and I don’t want to log in to your server when I’m not sure I’m safe).

Yes, all 3 checkboxes are checked. I tested it by uploading new images. They still only have “https://objects.dreamhost.com:443” URL paths.

Let me email you the ticket number. Thanks, Mika.

Figured it out and I SHOULD have known as soon as I saw that URL.

    Your site is https.

The last option of the settings is “Always serve files over https (SSL) (slowest – overrides CDN alias and dream.io) “

The reason there is dream.io isn’t available for https. In order to prevent mixed content warnings (that is, loading http URLs on an https site), the plugin is smart enough to force https. Which is only objects.dreamhost.com

*facepalm* I really should have noticed that before.

This is, sadly, the best option for you. https and dream.io will make you lose your green lock ?? I don’t know if dream.io plans to change that any time soon, but I’ve dropped them a line to ask.

Ok, thank you, Mika. Appreciate your time on this.

Hi Mika, sorry, I am still trying to digest your last message.

I visited the DreamSpeed CDN page, and it explicitly wrote “Secure Delivery over HTTPS”:

    https://www.dreamhost.com/cloud/cdn/

    ???

    So…… dream.io is not DreamSpeed CDN …… ???

That’s why I dropped them a line (we’re different teams you see).

Looks like it is now but it wasn’t when I add it in at first. So the plugin will have to be adjusted to compensate. It’s on the list now. Since this is going to be a big change (lots of ifs and checks to make sure I dont’ screw up mixed content) it’ll be a while.

Oh, I see now. Thank you, Mika!
