• Hello,

I have an SSL certificate installed on my site and it works just fine. I do not want my entire site to use SSL, but just a few select pages.

Unfortunately, when I type this in the browser URL to access a basic page:
    https://www.opticalauthoring.com/test/

    The page loads as:
    https://www.opticalauthoring.com/test/

Some pages, like my WooCommerce checkout page, or my Wishlist Member pages, all use SSL successfully.

I do not have any special plugins installed that would suggest they would change a typical page from http to https.

Do you have any thoughts on what would be causing this as a problem? Note that I am just creating a regular page not a post page.

    Thanks.

  • In your Settings page under General your site address and WordPress address are both set to regular http correct?

In WooCommerce under settings > checkout, under the checkout process heading the last option is “Force secure checkout”, is this option checked?

If it is then this would be expected behavior and everything is working correctly. To use SSL on some pages and not others you would need to use the .htaccess file in the root of your WordPress installation.
