Had posted this in general forums but looking for some specific thoughts if anyone has done this before.

    We’d come across these posts:

    https://barn2.co.uk/woocommerce-wholesale/
    https://woomultistore.com/

So were looking at using WooCommerce Multistore but wondered if anyone had any actual real world experience doing something similar to what we want to achieve, or whether we should do a multisite and sync products a different way.

Essentially we need to create a manufacturer website using woocommerce (B2B) and create multiple retailer websites (B2C), ideally running under one main installation (the B2B site), and allowing content and plugins, themes etc to be shared across the retailer sites (B2C).

    – maindomain.com will be the main domain/website for selling Oleifera products

    – maindomain.com is effectively a manufacturer website and will allow WHOLESALE purchases of products (B2B) via pre-approved, pre-registered users only, anyone else will only see publicly available content

    – there will be different websites for each country/retailer, these would be available by clicking a map that shows all retailer locations and through a dropdown menu choice based on country

    – each retailer website (B2C) will have the same products across all sites BUT allow pricing, shipping, taxes to be tailored to that specific country, we would set up these products in the manufacturer (B2B) site and push them to the retailer sites

    – urls would be done like this: gb.maindomain.com, de.maindomain.com, th.maindomain.com (i.e. using the country code as a subdomain of the main domain for each retailer website)

    – we will set up and maintain ALL websites across the network, each retailer will have access ONLY to things like ordering, statistics etc, they will NOT be able to edit content or add products, tho they can edit pricing etc

    – orders will be sent directly to each retailer and cc’d to B2B contacts

    – payments are made directly to each retailer, we won’t manage any of that other than setting it up for them, we do need to get informed of any purchases made tho and see all details for each retailer orders in a master dashboard of orders across the network

Hope that makes sense, and look forward to any advice you can offer.

    Thanks!

    Hi @cmykbkk

WooCommerce on a multisite will not sync product data between sites on the network, rather, each site is treated as an independent WooCommerce install.

There are likely services with plugins that will pull and push data between the sites but not something that is achieved without customizations. We recommend the services listed on this page for custom development work:

    https://woocommerce.com/customizations/

As for restricting content, you could use a plugin like WooCommerce Memberships. This plugin can restrict products to members of a specific plan. Users can be assigned to plans manually or automatically after purchasing a specific product.

Hopefully, this gets you going in the right direction to get the job done!

Thanks for the reply, not 100% sure still how to do this but narrowing down the options.

@cmykbkk, I am also looking into this. Have you had any success?

Lots of conflicting information from different people (we posted the same thread directly in WooCommerce forums too).

I think multisite + plugins to sync etc is the way to go but we haven’t actually done this yet as project is on hold.

My project might be a little smaller than yours but I think some of the principle is the same.

We are investigating a b2b and b2c (multiple POS) all consolidated into one wordpress installation.

Our b2c front is ready for demo, so now I am going to create a series of b2b pages and remap them to a subdomain.

You could maybe use the instructions here for remapping: https://bizzybizzycreative.com/adding-a-subdomain-for-a-page-on-your-wordpress-website/

Is that something you’ve considered? Doing it like this I believe you won’t have to worry about product sync issues between sites because wordpress should treat it like one site.

That wouldn’t work for what we were trying to do, as all the B2C sites needed to be managed separately by relevant countries who are selling, so we needed to go the multisite route.
