Many Attributes and slow admin panel

  • Hello there

    I have immigrated prestashop to woocommerce.
    My website have more that 15000 products and product attributes are my problems.

    In admin panel when I want to edit a product the page is not being fully loaded because of extreme attributes has been defined.

    I can’t even open widgets page to edit them.

    I don’t know what to do with these attributes.

    Is there a code exists to convert some of my attributes to custom fields and still keep them?

  • That’s one of the major pains with WooCommerce!

    Well worth the price for the time it will save you!!

    You can also reduce the number of variations in a product, for example if you have a Colour and a Size attribute (some of our shirts have 50+ colours and 10 sizes – 500+ variations!), use ‘All Sizes’ and ‘All Colours’ as the variation – the only problem with this is that you cannot use stock control or different prices etc on the different sizes/colours

    Also, you may want to look at your hosting – cheaper shared hosts are really not suitable for large WooCommerce sites – we have to move a customers site form one when they only had about 20 products!

    @mehrdadm This sounds like your server is timing out. You will most likely need to increase the memory available and/or increase the timeout for scripts at the server level, the host can help with this.
