• While I love the idea of this plugin, through testing I have found that many of the tools are broken. The generator doesn’t load the plugins and theme identified, although it does create a new Playground site. That’s just one example. The Plugin and Theme Explorer features don’t work – are these just meant to be placeholders for now? Currently it says: “Playground?does not yet support?connecting to the plugin directory yet. You can still upload plugins or install them using the?Query API?(e.g. ?plugin=coblocks).” Is anyone else having these issues with the plugin?

Oh, I just saw this. I need to see how I can enable notifications.

I’m not sure I understand what problem you are having with the Generator tool. This tool is intended to place the slugs of one or more plugins, separated by commas. As for themes, you can only load one theme slug per request.

Playground can take a long time to load “heavy” plugins and the more plugins you add the longer it will take. Could this be the problem?

For example, enter this string inside the Plugins field “performance-lab,simple-social-icons,genesis-simple-share” without the quotation marks.

This should generate this url: https://playground.wordpress.net/?plugin=performance-lab&plugin=simple-social-icons&plugin=genesis-simple-share&theme=&url=/wp-admin/index.php&mode=seamless&storage=none

The Plugin and Theme Explorer work for me. Are you still having problems with these two tools?

I think I have found the problem. You are using Playground to test the plugin.

To avoid recurrence problems “I have not facilitated” that the plugin can be generated inside a Playground with the plugin, that it generates a new Playground with the plugin, that it generates a new Playground with the plugin, etc.

I have experienced all the problems you say in this situation. However, if you install and use the plugin on a “real site” or in a local test environment, you should not have any of those problems.

Let me know if it worked for you

The Plugin and Theme Explorer did not work inside a Playground environment because Playground did not have network access before.

Now you can use the &networking=yes parameter to give Playground network access so that it can load both the plugin directory and the theme directory.

For example, with this configuration you will be able to use those two tools inside a Playground environment:

    https://playground.wordpress.net/?plugin=toys-for-playground&url=/wp-admin/admin.php?page=toys-playground&mode=seamless&networking=yes

However, I believe that problems are generated due to the “scopes” that Playground creates. I will continue to investigate this and how to solve the problems these same error in the Cloner and Generator tools.

Just remember that the plugin does not give problems on real sites and in local test environments. Only, ironically, within a Playground environment.
