    I am getting a site lockout notification about every 6 minutes from a site that some bot or other is trying to log into.

    I have enabled the daily security digest, which says “The Security Digest reduces the number of emails sent so you can receive a summary of lockouts, file change detection scans, and privilege escalations.” Yet I still seem to be receiving every lockout notification.

    Is there some reason the digest would not be working?

    Hi there,

    While the Security digest is enabled, it seems the “site lockout” notification is still enabled. I’ll suggest turning that off. This should not affect the Security digest in any way.

    I do want the lockout notifications, just not as they happen. Will I still get them in the digest?

    Yes, If you disable Site Lockout Notifications and enable Security Digest you will still see the lockouts, just in the Digest.

    Alright, trying that.

    For the record I think that’s an unintuitive way of controlling this feature.

    You have an option called “digest”. The language for that option suggests this will assemble all notifications into a digest, rather than getting every single notification.

    Further, there is no indication on the Lockouts screen that unchecking that option will still include lockout counts in the digest.

    At the very least you should update the instructions in the settings screens to make this more clear.

    Ideally though, enabling “digest” should enable “digest” – for all settings.
