• Guys, I apologize if that has been answered here…I tried to find it through Google and through here, but I can’t seem to find it…

I have WordPress installed on a subdomain (blog. )….I don’t know why I did it this way, I wasn’t thinking ahead….I want to use WordPress on the ENTIRE site, but I still want my blog at the blog subdomain…i think I’ll basically have to install WP on my domain..and then copy my entire blog over to the domain…but I would like for my blog to still be at the blog subdomain….I don’t want to install two WP installations on each domain…that just seems silly.

Is there a way for me to do all of this? Does any of this make sense? lol

    Thanks ahead of time,

  • As far as I can tell, if you want different content on two domains (or a subdomain and a domain), you’ll need to install WP on both. I’ve actually seen this done quite often, is there a reason you want to avoid it?

It just seems like it would be extra work that I wasnt sure would be needed…I’ll be doing a lot of styling and tweaking on my own…but then again, I like to create child themes for that..so that’s an easy fix…just upload the child to both directories…

Although, part of what I’m planning is populating my latest blog posts in a section of my home page..I know how to do it easily enough through a widget…but I’m not sure how that would work if I had two separate WP’s going on :/

Gotcha. Quick search for subdomain in plugins yielded the following:

Might either of these suit your needs?

I…think so…It’s late, and I’m tired…so things only make about 50% sense right now…but, from what I’m reading one of these just may do the trick..I’m going to tinker with them and see what I can do!

    Thanks

Haha, I hear ya. Welp, let us know the results of your experiment – hope one of those two plugins gets it done for you.
