Map does not display correctly with AJAX update

We are trying to update GeoMashup maps using AJAX, when the search results have changed. There are two different errors that happen, and we cannot figure out what is causing either one:

– The map HTML is rendered with backslashes to escape HTML quotes, resulting in small maps with no styling, preceded by the text : {“results”:”

– The map gives the error : WordPress transients may not be working. Try deactivating or reconfiguring caching plugins. issue 425.

No caching is being used. The search plugin being used is Search Filter Pro, and it is correctly passing post ID’s to the ‘object_ids’ tag of GeoMashups.
