  • I have the same problem – where is “map” supposed to be defined?

Uncaught ReferenceError: map is not defined
    at events-manager.js?ver=5.5:778

For those who haven’t tried yet – could you de-activate all plugins except EM and see if the issue remains? If not, please re-activate until it comes back and let us know which plugin causes the error to return.

It does sound like we may have a conflict to sort out so finding the cause would be very helpful in getting a fix sorted.

    Thanks

i would look to see if any other plugin uses a map module in its settings.

@nmenglund thanks for the line reference, I see why this may be happening and I think we can prevent the error.

I can probably simulate this error now, but if someone has a plugin that doesn’t work like @naturalworldstm mentioned that’d be helpful to speed things up.

    @sherpah I can’t find that plugin

@marcus WP Business Manager is a premium plugin.

well if the dev wants to send a copy to @wp-events-plugin.com (support@) and reference this page we could take a look.

i tried deactivating all my plugins except for EM and my maps still don’t display (using purchased custom theme)

note, my theme has a drop down gmap in the header (click the little green triangle and the map drops down)

when I disable that header map, everything works fine

have you tried the WP Twenty Twelve theme

everything works fine on Twenty Twelve for me

strange however that my contact us page works ok with both the header map and the map on the page…

strange too that it used to work fine with the header map AND the locations map displaying properly

i had this issue, and tracked it down to a setting in my theme, i would go through all settings and see if any are the cause.
I installed a copy local on my pc running xampp makes live so much more easy,
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=-hF7FbTQIkk

copied whole site and database to local
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/duplicator/

I am having the same issue, regardless of the theme (Twenty 12/13, Genesis child theme, etc)

Turns out there’s a conflict with the Store Locator Plus plugin. Deactivating that plugin resolves the error, and the map displays fine.

@marcus as I can see most of us are having this issue because we have another plugin calling Google Maps library. In my case was Sabai Directory from Codecanyon and after deactivate it in EM pages, the maps are there again.

I hope this could help. If You want, I can send You a copy of this plugin for testing purposes.

    Thanks for your time!

@marcus I asked the dev to send you a copy.

@marcus If it helps I could also activate the plugin for a while, I think the maps are loading twice.

Maybe this helps others; the problem seems to be fixed when I “limit JS file” loading under “performance optimization” in the settings.

edit Well, it seemed to work, but now it doesn’t anymore ??
The maps were probably still in my browser cache
