  • Hi Shirley,

Had a quick look at your website (interesting posts by the way!) and wanted to confirm if you were referring to the map in this post.

Instead of waiting for your reply (in case you’re anxious to know which is always the case) here’s how you can remove the London Marker:

    1. Go to your WordPress admin panel aka dashboard > Maps and click on the title of your map. By default there is a title “My first map”. Assuming you added your location on this existing map, do the following:

    2. click Edit (under map title) or the map title itself

    3. Scroll down past the map to the section “Your Markers”.

    4. The first marker under the “Your Markers” section should be the London market.

    5. Click “Delete” as shown in this screenshot (red arrow)

    6. Scroll up and click the blue Save Map button.

    7. Return to your post where your map is and refresh this page (Command+R on a Mac or Control + R on Windows)

Let me know how you get along.

Thanks Rafi ?? You’re spot on.

Glad to help. Great plugin by the way. I’ll definitely recommend it in tomorrow’s Luckywebs WordPress workshop at Google campus.

Perfect directions! And it worked like a charm. Thank you! I also appreciate your comments re: interesting posts! I will be launching the site in a few weeks.

@wpgmaps Plugin Author: Your welcome. You can see that I have added a separate slide highlighting your plugin here and view today’s workshop photo here.

@ Shirley: If you really like this plugin why not post a positive review by visiting the WP Google Maps plugin page and also clicking the “Works” button (bottom right of the page) with your WordPress version. I just did because and today quite a few of my workshop attendees agreed it was a useful plugin.

Good luck in launching your site.

Great plugin. And more importantly, at least for inept people like me, excellent customer service with detailed instructions that take nothing for granted. Easy to use, and my question for help was unnecessary if I had just scrolled further down the page. The people who answer plug-in questions on these forums must have the patience of a nun. Thanks for an excellent little plugin.

Oh boy, one problem to another it seems….
My website went totally white yesterday. I thought it crashed.
    Today it works, but…
I get an email from wordpress that says:
A host, 184.168.22.231(you can check the host at https://ip-adress.com/ip_tracer/184.168.22.231) has been locked out of the WordPress site at https://travellittleknownplaces.com until Sunday, May 12th, 2013 at 4:12:38 am UTC due to too many attempts to open a file that does not exist. You may login to the site to manually release the lock if necessary.
This is a spammer or spambot right that was blocked, correct?
What do I do is the question.???
    I checked the page https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Combating_Comment_Spam/Denying_Access
but it is all Greek to me – coding and so on.
Do I need to do anything?
Shouldn’t my security plug in prevent this from happening again?
    Please advise.
    Thank you!
    Shirley

    Second Problem… they seem endless…

Comments show up under my Posts when they feel like it. One time they are all there, the next time none!
    Any suggestions?
