• Hi there! Can someone map his own subdomain instead of domain?
Ex: My MU Network is example.com
Some user, John Doe, starts a blog on alpha.example.com. John Doe also has it’s own website, which is company.com (it’s not an WordPress Website). Can he map alpha.example.com to blog.company.com? So whenever someone access alpha.example.com, it will be redirected to blog.company.com? Or, however, in the address bar it will appear blog.company.com?

    Many thanks,
    Radu

    Hi Ron,
Thanks for your quick answer! ??
Right now I am using WPMUDEV Domain Mapping plugin. In their tutorial, they are saying the only way someone can map a domain is by having that domain parked.
I have a VPS + cPanel/WHM and I want to start a WP Multisite network on the website example.com.
An user opens his blog on my network, user1.example.com.
He registers the domain groovysite.com and wants to map it to user1.example.com. The only way it can be done is if the domain is parked in my account, as WHM owner. If I create an account for my client on cPanel, I need to add his domain. And if I add his domain, he can’t park it and therefore he can’t map it.

Does your plugin allows mapping domains which are not parked?

    Thanks again ??

That depends on what configurations your web hosts supports. It isn’t a DM plugin issue.
