MapPress maps broken, plugin “is loading an obsolete version of jQuery.”

By deactivating all my plugins and reinstalling them one by one, Autoptimize appears to be responsible for this error (see screen shot at https://imgur.com/a/otZs8uV).
One thing MapPress suggests is this:
`“Minifier” or “Optimizer” plugins
These plugins often mangle the MapPress JavaScript and CSS files. They usually have a setting where you can exclude certain scripts. Try excluding the Google Maps API and the MapPress JavaScripts and CSS:
maps.googleapis.com
mappress_index.js
mappress_admin_index.js
mappress.cssI tried doing the above. It is unclear how to exclude the Google Maps API (though I wonder if that should matter at all since I’m using their OpenStreetMap option), but I excluded the MapPress JavaScripts and CSS and am still getting the error.
Any ideas? This just began happening today.

the map loads OK, but I do see the warning on the browser console which given the jQuery version (outputted on the console) does not make a lot of sense?
Based on the mappress code that checks the jQuery version, it looks like they also check for jQuery UI and jQuery UI currently aggregated by AO, so you could try adding js/jquery/ui to the JS exclusion list? The question off course is if you need jQuery UI available early for the map to work on your site, it seems to be not the case, hence excluding would not be needed after all?
