There is a limit on the free version of the Google Maps API but I seem to remember it’s something like 25,000 loads per day – though you’d need to check that.

If you wanted to use an alternative to Google Maps, there’s an option to disable it under Events > Settings > Formatting > Maps. You could then edit the templates or create your own shortcode to use Ordnance Survey or another provider.

It might also be possible to use the plugin you mentioned.

afaik there is no limit for this kind of map, because your server isn’t loading the map, individual users and IPs are.

for other map types, you’d need to custom code it yourself.
