Maps and Locations – Google Autocomplete not working

    Hi All,

    I am having issues with the Maps and Locations plugin for some reason, I have done the following so far:

    -Created new project under Google Cloud Platform

    -setup billing on the account

    -activated Maps APIs and it seems to be receiving requests without any errors – shown below

    -received the API key

    -configured Maps and Locations plugin – shown below

    But whenver I type into the location text box, I do not receive any data back, only a number of exclamation mark icons as shown below. Any idea?

    Hi,
    can you paste a link to your page with [adverts_add] shortcode? Maybe there is just some JavaScript error which prevents the MAL JavaScript code from loading properly.

    The Maps and Locations plugin itself seems to be configured properly on your site.

    I have done some further investigation and troubleshooting and managed to sort it out after a couple of try-outs.

    1. Copying the key from google tends to add spaces at the front and end of the key (or maybe it was just the way I copied it – my bad) which results in adding (+) in the javascript code. The MAL plug-in does not tend to remove any spaces in the key and would still show that it passes the check (OK), it might be worth fixing.

    2. The key should be created by choosing BOTH “Maps” and “Places” in google cloud patform.

    3. Make sure you add your site under HTML filters/restrictions as follows:
    yourname.com/*
    *.yourname.com/*

    yazanabawi, I am having the exact same problem.. I think my key is on both Map and places how do i check??
    And when i add a filter to the api key the maps settings in wordpress says it doens’t allow any filters on api keys
