• Hello,

When editing a page in the page section at the editor, I want to insert a map object using the Maps Builder Shortcode Generator (and not as a fixed widget).
When clicking on the button (there are duplicated button, by the way) ‘Maps Builder Shortcode Generator’ a grey box opens with the label ‘Choose a Map’… and that’s it! In the plugin’s decoumentation you see the same window but it has more objects than just the label.
What’s wrong? or how can I insert a google maps object into a specific page
    Thanks alot!

    Eldar.

    Hi Eldar,

If you see multiple buttons, I would first start by disabling all other plugins to make sure you don’t have a conflict somehow with another plugin. If that problem goes away, re-activate each plugin one by one until you see the problem again — that way you know which plugin is causing that issue.

In the shortcode builder, you’ll see those additional options AFTER you choose your map. Different options are available per map because of your potential map settings.

    Thanks!

Unfortunately, I have already done this step, and still, with all the plugins disabled, I see the doubled buttons and the form is empty.

    Thanks again,

Perhaps then it’s a conflict with your theme. Is your theme a free theme from www.ads-software.com that I can easily test?

I used the ‘Harmonic’ theme, but unfortunately I have tried to use the ‘Twenty Sixteen’ generic theme and the problem still happens (without any plugin excepts the google maps).
Needless to say that my google API key is ok, because I created a map in my site, and my browser is updated (chrome).

Perhaps I can get the html tags for the map item, so I can try to put the map element manually?
    Thanks again,

Maybe we missed the very first step. Did you actually create your map first? You should see a menu item called “Google Maps”. The shortcode generator cannot add a map if one does not already exists.

And while it may seem that your API key works, Google has made many changes to their API keys recently. It would be useful to create a new key according to our documentation:
    https://wordimpress.com/documentation/maps-builder-pro/creating-maps-api-key/

Let me know on those two items. Thanks!

    1. Yes, I created a map and I can see its Id too.
    2. My API key was generated by this given guide. It weekend because I created a map with the map builder.
    3. It seems that the problem is with the page creation GUI. Maybe adding manually the map HTML element would give us a better sight about the problem.

Again, thank you for the help,
    Eldar

I have the exact same problem. Duplicated buttons, no dropdown to choose menu from.
I deactivated all plugins and switched to the Twenty Fifteen theme, but the problem remains.

I’m using WordPress 4.6.1 on mac OS 10.12.1, firefox 50.0.

    Thank you.

    Hey gang,

Thanks for the updates. I dug into the code a bit more and I was able to replicate that problem. I reported on it in our issue tracker here so you can track our progress:

    Thanks!
