    Hi @wpjeremy
Can you confirm that with Autoptmize disabled, the map works normally?
The javascript code is loading data for the map 5 times, which is odd.

Most likely you’ll need to exclude files from Autopmize or adjust the settings. Looking at their options, it seems ‘aggregate inline JS’ option could cause issues. Check if disabling that helps.

    Hi Carlos,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tested disabling Autoptimize entirely on a staging site and found the issue still happens.

I then switched my theme from OceanWP to Twenty Twenty-One and found the issue is no longer seen.

I’m not really sure where that leaves me, but I kinda think this is a theme issue of some kind at this point.

    Thanks,

    Jeremy.

After sleeping on this I came back to my staging site and disabled all plugins. I found the maps now load with my theme, so I started enabling plugins again.

What I found was this plugin somehow conflicts on my blog archive pages loading a map as described, but another map on a WP page didn’t have an issue. Strange, but at least now I knew how to tackle the issue.

I checked in the settings for the plugin and didn’t find anything to stop the plugin from acting on the blog archive pages. What became apparent though was this plugin tries to do a lot of things, instead of just doing one thing well.

So I switched over to this simple plugin instead which does the same thing and now everything is working as expected. Maps now load on all pages without this issue.

This came up as I have external affiliate products in WooCommerce, which I pull external images for.

I believe all of this means the issue isn’t down to the theme I am using exclusively. Maybe it’s my theme and the featured image from url plugin which impacts IGM.
Whatever the scenario, hopefully this can help someone down the line.

Glad you managed to track down the cause of the issue. Thank you for sharing that information! Hopefully it will help others who come across the same issue.
    Greetings, Carlos
