The first one is from the bog post archive and the second from single post (the layout is the same – Gutenberg layout in the customizer settings). The spacing between the entry title is different though on the blog archive page vs the single post page, and the spacing below the featured image is different again. I want everywhere the same.

unfortunately my site is not live yet. Could you please do the following steps:

– set archive for blog posts to Gutenberg layout(the last layout in the list)
– set single blog post layout to Gutenberg layout
– enable featured image for both
– disable meta display for both
– set the order to title first, then featured image, then entry content for both
– now look at blog post archive and single post and compare the mentioned spacings.

This isn’t going to work, I’m afraid. There’s no “Gutenberg” layout for single posts, so I’m not sure what I should select there.

Here’s one other method we could get these settings transferred. Can you go to the Customiser -> General -> Manage Options and export the customiser settings from there and send them our way? — https://ibb.co/q0gvWDT

If you hover over the different layout options there is a tooltip saying Gutenberg if you hover over the last layout…

I’m really sorry, but the contents are not correct. Can you please zip up the file and upload it somewhere? I guarantee that no sensitive data is sent with it.

Also, I have tried a few times to replicate your settings. But again, I’m really sorry and they cannot be reproducible 1:1.

The single post pages have no “Gutenberg” option. Plus that the archive and singular pages are simply not constructed the same. The archive page has no “hero” section to contain the data (the hero is actually for the archive itself), while the single post page has this metadata inside the hero, as there’s no way to combine it with the content.

Maybe this could shed some light on what you’re experiencing. ??

But yes, to be able to confirm exactly what you’re experiencing and provide a resolution for it, we’ll either need to see the site directly, or export the customiser settings and send them our way. Information gets lost in transit and having a direct look is the best way.

OK, put the customiser settings up. And confirms my theory that you’re trying to adjust two different things that are not really related.

First, check out this video to understand easily how these pages are composed — https://streamable.com/nqgk98. You will see that the archive is composed of blog cards, while the singular page is composed of more modules.

Nevertheless, these can be easily adjustable with CSS. Though, take into consideration the other surrounding elements as well.

For the archive page —

[data-archive=default][data-layout=gutenberg] article>*+.ct-image-container {
  margin-top: 20px !important;
  margin-bottom: 20px !important;
}

For the singular page —

.single-post .ct-featured-image {
  padding-bottom: 20px !important;
}

The singular page’s top spacing is controlled via the Customiser -> General -> Layout -> Content Area Spacing, because the hero and featured image layers are separate modules on the page. One is the hero and the other is the content.

Of course adjust the values to taste.

thanks! So that still did not make the spacing everywhere and for all screen-sizes the same, so I added this

in order to really have 40px spacing everywhere at al times – would this br correct? Also, is there an issue setting te image container from flex-inline to block? The flex-inline adds another empty white space underneath the image.
