    the actual wording on “requirements” is

    To run WordPress we recommend your host supports:
    PHP version 5.6 or greater
    MySQL version 5.6 or greater OR MariaDB version 10.0 or greater

    The “Hosting WordPress” link are pretty much the bare minimums.

    I agree that this is confusing; I’ll post a note for someone to take a look.

    in any case, One is minimum requirement. One is recommended

    Looks like the “hosting” will go away and “requirements” will remain. Thanks for pointing this out.
