Mark items as 'sold' in gallery

  • Is there a plugin or something that would allow me to easily mark items as ‘sold’? Specifically, I will have a gallery page and want to add a watermark or red dot or something that would indicate the sold paintings.

    I trying to get away from having to change the thumbnail image whenever an item sells.

    CobaltCat, Have you found a way to do this? I have a site with sculptures and paintings that I manage for an artist and have the same trouble.

    Unfortunately, no. We just have to edit the thumbnail each time.

    Is there a way to edit just the thumbnail without changing the image? I mean, I’d like to add text that says SOLD. I think I have to change the image in order to have it appear on just the thumbnail, correct?

    I just go into the uploads folder, download the thumbnail, edit it and re-upload it to the same place.

    Of course. Thanks for sharing.

    You can use the NextGen Gallery plugin to get that red dot. It gives you an optional watermark image that you can define yourself that is superimposed over any images that you want to mark as sold. You won’t have to re-upload your images every time they sell.
