I can’t seem to find the shortcode to change the colour of the marker pins. The support text says 9 colours are available. Can you help with this please?

Also, the coordinates of the marker appear to align with the top left corner of the icon, rather than under the pin point. Is this the intended behaviour or a bug?

    Hi Steve,

It’s a little way down the documentation page:

markers=”SD8128299116;Marker 1|54.388698,-2.293453!red;Marker 2″ This is a list of one or more positions with optional labels. Markers are separated by |, with a ; between the position and label.

If you want to override the default blue marker colour you can add a colour after the position, separated by a ! mark. Valid colours are: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, gold, grey, black.

Regarding the misplaced marker, that will be a CSS thing, maybe a conflict between the plugin and your theme or another plugin. Do you have any other maps plugins active?

Can you send me a link to the page which shows the problem on your site?

    Simon

Thanks for your assistance. I found the reference to the colour thing after I posted post.

Does the colour change work for the 1st marker too? I found a error where this shortcode works :

    [osmap_test height=”600″ width “800” zoom=”7″ markers=”NY2372221064;Stair Cottage”]

    But this shortcode :

    [osmap_test height=”600″ width “800” zoom=”7″ markers=”NY2372221064!red;Stair Cottage”]

    Gives error :

“NY2372221064!red is not a valid lat long, it should be two decimal numbers separated by a comma”

    ————–

Example of the misplaced marker here. The marker position is identical to the first coordinate in the gpx track.

You can see the strange behaviour as you zoom in.

Thanks for your help. Superb plugin and support.

I can reproduce the problem with the first marker not accepting a colour. That does look like a bug. I’ll take a look at that, but it will be a few days before I can get to it.

Ah, the conflicting plugin is the old OpenSpace maps plugin! They don’t co-exist as well as I thought they did. It will be resolved anyway once you change over to using the new one, but I’ll see if I can improve that as I always intended that you should be able to test the new one while the old one is still active.

Yes, deactivating the openspace plugin has fixed the marker alignment. Thanks for that.

The marker colour thing is minor but thanks for checking it out. It would be good to be able to use just green & red for the start and end of walks.

    Thanks again for your assistance.

Both these issues should be fixed in 1.0.7, just released.

That’s great thanks. The 1st marker colour seems to be working now.

However, the zoom=”?” seems to have stopped working. It does not seem to change the starting scale for a map with just markers. A map with a track seems to scale automatically to suit the track size, but the zoom=”?” attribute makes no difference to the initial scale.

    Example page :

    https://fyldemountaineeringclub.org/index.php/stair-cottage/

    Which has shortcode :

    [osmap height=”600″ width “800” zoom=”7″ markers=”NY2372221064!blue;Stair Cottage”]

but opens in zoom level 11 irrespective of the shortcode.

Doh! Copy and paste error. Thanks for the quick report, it should be fixed now in 1.0.8.
