Marker Icons – how to see all icons that come with the font?

    First of, thanks for the amazing plugin!

    A tiny issue I’m running into is the selection of different icons for the pins I want to specify on the map.

    Here is a screenshot of what I’m currently seeing when selecting a custom icon: https://postimg.org/image/kfi1xuith/

    However, there seems to be a lot more icons to choose from: https://scottdejonge.github.io/Map-Icons/#icons

    I have no scrollbar or anything of that sort to see more icons on the backend. I see all the shortcodes for the icons in the “map-icons.css” under “wp-content/plugins/google-maps-builder/includes/libraries/map-icons/css/map-icons.css”.

    Is there a way to easily select within the plugin the other icons that come with the font?

    Hey Toby,

    We’ll be adding the other icons in the future. Right now you CAN customize the icon by modifying the marker data directly in the marker’s custom field meta.

    Thanks so much for your quick reply and please excuse my late reply. Would you mind being a bit more specific on how to achieve that? Am I able to use the codes of other icons of the font stated in the first post or is this a “stripped down” character set that comes with Maps Builder?

    Hi Toby,

    Looks like you were on the right track. Just select the marker type, click on the icon you want from the list of available icons, then click the “Set Marker” button at the bottom of the modal to save it. Then click “Update Map” and you’re good to go.

    @tm4tt to answer your question the free one does have a limited set of icons compared to the Pro version which allows you to upload your own icons and pick from a wider set.

    so if I understand it correctly, I have to purchase the Pro version in order to use custom marker icons? This is really the only functionality I would need from the Pro version right now (although I’m sure that there are other great features too).

    Any timeline on when you plan on adding other icons – like you said in post #2 – in the free version? Or is it going to be restricted to the Pro version?

    We might add some more to the free version in the future but I can’t give any timeline for that sorry. There are a whole lot more features than just the icons in the pro version. And in the free version there’s also a filter to set an icon programmatically if you know a bit of code.
