Marketing (coupons) tab not showing

Hi there,

Just to check – Is coupon usage enabled under **WooCommerce > Settings > Check – Enable the use of coupon codes**? Also, can you share a bit more on the version numbers that you updated to/from?

Finally, can you share a copy of your status report as found under **WooCommerce > Status**?

Hi, thanks for your quick response. Of course the option is enabled, active coupons still work. I’m using all the latest versions, no pending updates. This is done automatically, so I don’t exactly know when updates took place and which versions were updated.

What is the direct link of Marketing/coupons? Maybe it’s just the menu option that disappeared?

Hey @hdebruyne

I suspect that one of your plugins is the cause of the menu option being removed (Admin Menu Editor Pro seems like a suspect here). You might want to deactivate that to see if that helps. If deactivating that one also doesn’t bring it back, you’ll need to do a more extensive conflict test. Yeah, could be the problem.

Thing is that I didn’t run any updates on Admin Menu Editor just before the problem started, since my license was expired. So that makes it less likely that this is the problem. I now renewed the license and installed the latest updates. Unfortunately no solution.

The direct link works, so it is a matter of visibility of the menu, no limitations in permissions luckily.

So, I did the test-for-conflicts thing. I deactivated all my plugins one by one. Literally the last one (least supspected) appeared to be the bad guy: WooCommerce Admin plugin. After deactivating this plugin, all problems are solved.

Of course I did the ultimate test, to reactivate the plugin and unfortunately the problem was back again. So my guess is that there’s a bug in there.

Menu items that dissapear are Marketing (with submenu’s of course), but also several subitems’s of WooCommerce: Orders, Customers, Coupons, Status, Settings, Extensions

I’ve checked this on a few of my test sites, but having WooCommerce Admin installed does not remove the menu items for me.

Are you seeing the same issue when all plugins are deactivated and WooCommerce and WooCommerce Admin are the only two plugins active?

I’m not sure how the Admin Menu Editor plugin works exactly, but it’s possible that you’ve made some changes in there that have an impact (and that made changes to your database, so even when the plugin is deactivated, those changes might still be happening).

Also note that you might not need WooCommerce Admin as such, since a lot of its features are now integrated in WooCommerce itself.

Weirdly, if I look at my other WooCommerce sites, with similar setup, there’s no problem as well.

But in this particular site, I deactivated all plugins, except Elementor and WooCommerce. As I said, WC Admin was the last one I deactivated. Only then the problem was solved. I could have all other plugins active with the same result.

I also contacted the maker of Admin Menu Editor. He assured me that, with the plugin deactivated, all menuchanges are gone. So no permanent db changes. This I tested of course and he was right.

So, I still cannot explain it. I used to be a software developer, so I can’t stand it, but for now, I think I’m gonna except it. Indeed, I can do without WooCommercer Admin for this site.
