Would it be possible to integrate a marketplace setup with EM Pro? Any known plugins that could assist? I just found out my previous idea of holding money myself is frowned upon by PayPal.

  • What exactly do you mean? What would you like to achieve? ??

    Hi Patrick,
I would like for users to collect money themselves through PayPal (instead of it coming to me) when they submit events with bookings enabled. I can accomplish this roughly without EM pro, but I was wondering if I could pair EM with any outside plugins to have it run more smoothly.
Ive found a bunch, but none that are event specific or that integrate at all, ie Id have to sell tickets as separate products to the events themselves.
Edit: if I could do all this without added plugins, thatd be cool too.

    Ah okay.
From the top of my head… the connection and webhook remain the same. “Just” the email addresses of the seller differs.

How about a custom field in the event submission form for their PayPal address? Then some conditional coding to use that.

If PayPal can handle that and still use the same web book callback, it should t be hard to do.

I have installed the Mollie plugin for EM Pro but is doesn’t come up when I make a booking.
Mollie is activated but how can I get it coming up in booking porcedure.

After submit the form no paygateway (iDeal) comes up.
    See https://bureaustralingmeten.nl/evenementen

So, I can not see a ‘Pay with’ button/dropdown.

    @frankybb,
    Two things:
    1) This topic is not yours, nor is your question in any way related to original post. So please do not clutter it.
    2) Your question is about a EM third-party add-on. So this is the wrong forum for your question. Please open your own topic here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/stonehenge-em-mollie/

How difficult would you say it’d be to also take a percentage out of each ticket for the site? I called PayPal and asked about this, but I’m not sure they knew what I was talking about. There are many plugins that allow for individual stores with house cuts, but for obvious reasons, that’s no good. Basically, would pro support be willing to help make this happen?

would pro support be willing to help make this happen?

I don’t think so. Their policy (even in Pro) towards custom coding is, logically, rather limited.

The thing is that house cuts are being withheld by the house, not a payment service provider. Why would they put in a lot of additional administration to split payments, etc?

I am using Mollie, but Stripe does this too: for every payment made through them, they take a cut. Their pay-out is the revenue minus their cut.
So if you want a cut as well, you will need to take that out yourself – before paying your event owner(s).

This brings me back to your original question. You cannot have both! Either all payments go through your account so you can take a cut yourself OR you have nothing to do with the payments and pay-outs and use separate payment accounts.

Oh yes, I understand. Paypal, Stripe or whatever will always take their ~3%. My idea originally was to hold money and then disburse it to organizers after the event passed successfully, but recently, Paypal told me that business plan is not allowed due to liability. There are plugins that do a split for you and keep the accountability on the organizer (rather than the marketplace), but none work with EM. That’s my issue. I know it can be done, but not sure how I can do it through EM Pro.

The liability lies with you. You are the main event holder and owner of the PayPal account.

I know, but still PayPal does not allow it. They said I’d be banned for life if I tried using this strategy.
